Kathryn O’Connor designed Statue No. 3 which is situated in Lavington Gardens and was sponsored by Bridgnorth Aluminium.
Kathy is a documentary artist whose ethos is to help celebrate life, through capturing the true beauty in all people and nature.
“I really enjoyed working to get the art trail to happen for Bridgnorth. It was important to me to find a way to help bring art and creativity to the forefront of the town. As an artist, creating one of the designs was one of the most rewarding creative things I’ve done. It was also a challenge. I think it has ultimately helped me to grow. As for the future, I am currently looking for premises for my own art studio in or around Bridgnorth, where I hope to undertake a lot more exciting creative projects I have in the pipeline. Also I am hoping to undertake a large photo social history project based in Bridgnorth over the next year … watch this space! Hopefully our art trail is already inspiring everyone as for me that is the aim of any art.”
Kathy originally trained as an “old school” photographer using film over 20 years ago. She has since transferred to digital, but still prefers to emulate the quality and feel of film. Focusing on an accurate documentary style, Kathy has done a variety of work for customers, including private artwork, private portraits, actors, musicians, theatre companies, dance companies, art centres, etc. She also produces her own greetings cards, bookmarks and books.
