Following our appeal for volunteers to help spruce up our plinths, and the promise of fine weather, it was fabulous to see people turn up to help. We met at the Town Hall on Monday at 6.30pm. We had previously asked volunteers to bring their own brushes, and the committee provided the paint.

We had enough people to split into small groups to get the job done efficiently. By 7.30 we had attended to all 5 statues in High Town, the Civic Society’s statue at the Foundry site on the river (No. 7), and the Filtermist statue at Fox Corner (No. 5). A massive “thank you” to everyone who came along – your support is very much appreciated!
